TOMS RIVER – A vehicle burst into flames after what appeared to be a single-car accident early Friday.
Emergency crews were dispatched at 1:42 a.m. April 12 after a car slammed into a utility pole and erupted into flames. The pole also caught fire.
Pleasant Plains Volunteer Fire Company, which shared the images to social media, said there was a magnesium fire under the steering column and a fuel leak. Crews worked with CO2 and a Class D extinguisher and the fire was contained.
Jersey Shore Online reached out to both the volunteer fire company and Toms River Police for an exact location and the condition of the vehicle’s occupants.
