Two Kittens Thrown From Vehicle, Police Search For Suspect

TOMS RIVER – Police are searching for the person who took two cats and threw them out of a moving car window in a horrific case of animal cruelty.

Toms River Police said the incident happened on Saturday June 22. Officers were called to the intersection of Route 70 and Massachusetts Ave for an animal call.  

Witnesses told police that the passenger of an older model, faded red Pathfinder, with black roof racks, threw two kittens into the road. 

Police said one of the kittens was immediately run over by another vehicle as the second kitten was rescued by the person who phoned the authorities.

Shortly after a photo was taken, the surviving kitten escaped into the woods.
