TOMS RIVER – Two Toms River residents were arrested on drug charges at their Walnut Street apartment over the weekend, where police also seized 48 bricks of heroin and over a half pound of marijuana.
Toms River Police’s Special Enforcement and Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at 47 Walnut Street Apartment A7 on Friday, March 1, 2019. A search warrant was also executed for a vehicle associated with the address. The search was the result of a month long investigation into heroin distribution in the township, police said.
The search resulted in the arrest of 40-year old Louis Stokes and 46-year old Tosha Hester, both of 47 Walnut Street Apartment A7. Police seized approximately 48 bricks of heroin, worth approximately $10,000, as well as more than a half pound of marijuana, worth approximately $700.
Stokes was charged with possession of heroin, possession of over one half ounce of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession of marijuana over one ounce with the intent to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute CDS on School Property. Hester was charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of over one ounce of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession with the intent to distribute CDS on School Property.
Stokes is being held at Ocean County Jail pending a court appearance. Hester was released on a summons pending a future court date.
