TOMS RIVER – On March 8, Toms River employees participated in a fundraiser to raise money for the Gift of Life Donor Program’s Family House. Employees were invited to wear jeans to work, Mason’s Mission shirts and blue or green to support organ donation awareness at a cost of a $5 donation.

Currently in the United States, there are more than 119,000 people waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.

Unfortunately, 22 people die each day because an organ did not become available in time. There are more than 5,600 people – that’s friends, family, neighbors and colleagues – in our region who are waiting for a second chance at life.

Gift of Life Family House serves as a “home away from home” for transplant patients and their families by providing temporary, affordable lodging, meals, and supportive services to those who travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for transplant-related care. Gift of Life Family House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
