TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Police Department recently trained members of several Toms River Fire Companies and Toms River EMT’s in an Active Shooter Rescue Task Force training.

In a recent post on their Facebook page, the department explained how important it is for officers and first responders to stay up to date with new training.

Their new training involves members to save the most lives in a real-life situation. The training is constructed to treat and evacuate wounded individuals from an active shooter situation rapidly, and safely. This gives victims in the situation treatment as quickly as possible.
