Toms River Incumbents, Challengers, File For Primary

TOMS RIVER – The four seated Township Council members filed to run for office to keep their posts, but there are several contested primary races in town.

In Ward 1, Anthony Colucci, 249 Coolidge Avenue in Ortley Beach, is seeking nomination from the Democrats.

It’s a three-way race for Republicans in Ward 1, between Councilwoman Maria Maruca, 2513 Waters Edge Dr., Chris Grimes, 1824 Nautilus Dr., and Justin Lamb, 109 Buermann Ave.

In Ward 2, Daniel Rodrick, 63 10th St., is seeking nomination from the Democrats.

Councilman Kevin Geoghegan, 47 Daisy Rd., is seeking nomination from the Republicans.

  In Ward 3, Laurie Huryk, 1149 Marlane Rd., and Wendell Ferandos, 1212 Jasam Ct., are competing for the nomination from the Democrats.

Councilman Jeffrey Carr, 265 Constitution Ave., is seeking the nod from the Republicans.

In Ward 4, Terrance Turnbach, 16 Central Ave., is seeking nomination from the Democrats.

Councilman Alfonso Manforti, 541 Lakehurst Rd., is seeking nomination from the Republicans.

The primary election will be held on June 6.
