TOMS RIVER – Multiple first responders helped extinguish a heavy house fire in the early hours Wednesday morning, officials said.
Both Toms River Fire Companies No. 1 and No. 2 as well as East Dover Fire Company No. 4 were dispatched to Park Crest Road around 1:24 a.m.
Fire Chief Gary Simone said they found the fire on the second floor of the home with heavy clutter conditions. As a result, Simone requested a second alarm to be transmitted to bring in additional resources.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to three bedrooms on the second floor.
At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation by Fire Inspectors Richard Foster and Kyle Palmisano from the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention. They said the cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious and no injuries were reported.
