Toms River House Destroyed In Early Morning Fire

  TOMS RIVER – At least one dog was a casualty of a fire that destroyed a home on Monroe Avenue.

  Around 6:45 a.m. on February 28, fire companies from around the area converged on the home which was fully engulfed in flames, officials said.

  The owners were not home when the fire began. However, one of the family dogs died and one remains missing at this time. In addition, two cars and a neighboring house was damaged. Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries they sustained, officials said.

  At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation by Detective Ryan Parente and Toms River Fire Inspector Rich Foster.
