TOMS RIVER – Who knew that an old pair of shoes could make such a difference? The Onofrietti family certainly believes that they can. Back in October, the Onofrietti sisters hosted a drive to collect 500 pairs of old shoes from generous donors that could be used to help those in need, all around the world.

The Onofrietti family, with their four daughters, worked hard in an effort to give back this holiday season. They collected shoes for Soles4Souls, a non-profit social enterprise that creates jobs and helps those less fortunate by distributing shoes and clothing around the world.

Taking it upon themselves to contribute, the Onofrietti family also encouraged friends, family and neighbors to donate their old shoes with an encouraging slogan from Stacy Onofrietti:

“Your gently used shoes you no longer want can help create meaningful opportunities many in developing nations need.”

The Onofrietti family is a big supporter of what Soles4Souls does to help people around the globe.

“We hope to take a big step in providing the organization with the new and gently used shoes they require to disrupt the cycle of poverty around the globe,” said Robert Onofrietti.

This shoe collection was the family’s first drive, but they hope to have another successful go at it again next year.
