TOMS RIVER – The reign of terror on caffeinated beverages is over. Township police are crediting the public’s help in aiding in the capture of two people who stole hundreds of dollars worth of coffee from the Ortley Beach Acme last month.
Police say 55-year-old Donald Kelly and 43-year-old Tammy Burd, both of Seaside Heights, were identified and arrested on May 2nd.
Tips posted on social media helped with the identification and location of the duo. They were arrested, charged with theft and released pending a future court date.
The identical happened on April 25th where Kelly and Burd were seen on surveillance video taking seven boxes of Keurig K-Cups valued at $110 each. All in all, they left the store without paying for $770 worth of coffee.
