TOMS RIVER – A fire that broke out around 11 a.m. Thursday is still under investigation this afternoon, officials said.
Toms River Police said the fire broke out at 73 East Rolling Hills Court, located near Clayton and Monroe avenues. Police had asked motorists to find an alternate route as crews battled the blaze.
The fire appears to have originated in the home’s garage. A neighbor saw flames and called authorities. Units arrived and saw the flames fully engulfing the garage.
Crews rescued one woman through a rear window. Her condition was not immediately reported.
The fire was extinguished by 12:30 p.m.
Investigation remains active by The Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention, Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the Toms River Police Department.
