TOMS RIVER – An act of kindness left a generous man with no car after a female stole his car when he wasn’t looking.
On February 9, the victim was outside a business on Route 166 when a female approached him asking for a ride to New York. The man had offered to drive her to the bus station and she agreed, entering his vehicle.
The victim then entered the convenience mart and the female proceeded to steal the vehicle, according to police.
Jillian Messina from the Toms River Police Department told Jersey Shore Online how New Jersey State Police were able to locate the stolen vehicle on the parkway. This led to a pursuit but was later called off for the safety of other drivers on the parkway.
Messina state that the incident is still under investigation.
