A 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling west on Route 37 around 5:30 p.m. hit a 2009 Honda Civic while crossing the intersection at Peter Avenue, police said. The Honda had the green light and right-of-way.
The motorcyclist, 23-year-old Cory L. Eckstadt of Eagleswood, was thrown 100 feet from his bike. He sustained serious injuries but was listed in stable condition Saturday night.
Police did not release the status of Gerard A. Straniero Jr., 55, of Toms River, who was driving the Honda Civic.
