TOMS RIVER – Authorities are investigating how a six-year-old girl fell from a second story window at her township home.
Toms River Police Spokesperson Jillian Messina confirmed officers responded on February 8 to the Hazelwood Road house at around 4:15 p.m.
In an email to Jersey Shore Online, Messina said “after the fall, the girl was alert and conscious. She walked to the front door to seek help from her mother.”
Police added that due to the nature of the incident, she was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune via ambulance for treatment.
No other details were released by police.
Ocean County Scanner News reported that the girl suffered a back injury and that a medevac was considered before being called off.
