Shots Fired During Fight Near Toms River Hotel

TOMS RIVER – Shots were fired during an altercation in front of the Days Hotel on Route 37, and police said that although no one was shot, one person did need to be taken to the hospital.

The “large fight” broke out at around 12:45 a.m. on the morning of December 17, Jillian Messina, spokesperson for Toms River Police, told JerseyShoreOnline.com.

Multiple officers responded, and learned that shots were fired but no one was hit, she said. However, a man suffered a seizure during the incident. Silverton First Aid took him to Community Medical Center in Toms River.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI unit responded to assist in processing the scene.

Toms River Police thanked Manchester, Island Heights, Berkeley, South Toms River, Jackson, Brick, Seaside Heights, and Lavallette police departments for providing assistance at the scene, as well as handling a variety of calls throughout the town during the investigation.
