TOMS RIVER – The annual Toms River Shakespeare Festival returns to Huddy Park and Ortley Beach this summer! Join in for an evening of live theater to see Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, directed by Lori Garrabrant, on August 1-11.

The story of Measure for Measure centers on a young novice nun that must persuade the Duke of Vienna’s corrupt Deputy, Angelo, to spare her brother’s life. However, when Angelo proposes a salacious bargain to redeem him, where will she turn and who will believe her?

The work of the Toms River Shakespeare Festival is brought to life by donations from the community.

“Alone, we couldn’t accomplish very much, but together we can continue to do exactly what we set out to do: to bring people together, to share timeless texts and stories with our audiences and to create theatre that is inclusive, accessible and FREE FOR ALL!” stated Lori Garrabrant, Founder/Producing Artistic Director of the Toms River Shakespeare Festival.

If you wish to support the festival, you can make a tax-free donation at trshakespeare.org/support.

Measure for Measure will be performed August 1-11, Thursday to Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Huddy Park. On August 7, at Ortley Beach.
