TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Road Department is busy today re configuring an intersection which is impacting traffic going north on Fischer Boulevard.
Currently that intersection features the option to make a right turn onto Hooper Avenue north, or to go straight around the reverse jug handle to go south on Hooper.
According to a report by Ocean County Scanner News, the two right lanes are now for turning right from Fischer onto Hooper Northbound. The corner has a no turn on red now, which is causing some confusion for drivers.
The left lane is for going straight only while the center lane is for straight or right.
All lanes now have a no turn on red, and traffic has the two right lanes to turn right onto Hooper Northbound.
These changes are expected to take effect by this afternoon. Drivers are advised to use caution and be observant of the new traffic pattern.
This change in pattern will alleviate the long lines of traffic waiting to turn right onto Hooper Northbound from Fischer.
