TOMS RIVER – East Water Street between Hooper Avenue and Dock Street in downtown Toms River remains partially closed as county crews complete a stormwater project.
A 24-hour detour has been in place, with the road only open to local traffic. Traffic traveling east on Water Street is detoured onto Hooper Avenue and no left turns are possible from Hooper onto Water Street. Signs are also in place further west on Water Street and also on Washington Street to alert drivers of the closure.
The southern sidewalk of Water Street is closed as crews install a new stormwater filtration piece in the area of Riverfront Landing County Park.
