TOMS RIVER – A police vehicle was involved in an accident while responding to a call for service last week.
On Jan. 10, police responded to the intersection of Fischer Blvd and Adams Ave for reports a motor vehicle accident involving a Toms River Police vehicle.
While responding to a call of a suicidal woman reportedly in the area, Sgt. Gallipoli was travelling eastbound on Adams Ave. attempting to locate the woman. As Gallipoli crossed Fischer Blvd., his cruiser collided with 62-year old Arthur Butulan of Seaside Heights who was travelling northbound on Fischer Blvd.
Butulan’s passenger was transported to Community Medical with minor injuries.
The woman was found a short time later and transported to a crisis center for treatment.
