TOMS RIVER – Local authorities are currently investigating a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian that occurred over the weekend.
The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Mobile Lane. According to police, a car was traveling northbound on Massachusetts Avenue when it struck a pedestrian and fled the area.
The victim was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
The vehicle which hit the victim is believed to be a blue Volkswagen sedan, authorities said. The car will likely have front driver side damage and a broken driver side rearview mirror.
