Jeep Vs. Toms River Dollar Tree Crash, Driver Injured

TOMS RIVER – The Dollar Tree on Fischer Boulevard remains closed after a woman lost control of her vehicle and smashed into a major support beam, sending police and emergency crews to the scene.

Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little tells Jersey Shore Online that the incident on the afternoon of August 6 sent the driver, identified as Edda Ramos, to Community Medical Center in Toms River with minor injuries and some traffic citations.

According to Chief Little, Ramos lost control of her Jeep Wrangler and struck a concrete support post outside the store, which caused a partial collapse of the outside roof structure to the building.

The building inspector responded and deemed the building unsafe.

Photos from the scene posted on Jersey Coast Emergency News showed the Jeep having a handicapped license plate.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
