FREEHOLD – Police are probing a head-on car crash that left a Toms River woman dead and a man hospitalized with injuries.
Freehold Township Police said the crash happened on January 24 around 1:44 p.m. at the intersection of Monmouth Road/537 and Ely Harmony Road.
The crash closed the road for several hours while the investigation took place and the crash was cleaned up.
Police are seeking witnesses to the accident.
According to Officer Kevin Cherney, the 85-year-old Toms River woman died at the scene. A 42-year-old Freehold man remains in the hospital with non life- threatening injuries. Both of their identities are being withheld.
