Former Ocean County Teacher Admits To Sexual Contact With Minor

  OCEAN COUNTY – A former Ocean County Performing Arts School teacher has pled guilty to charges in connection to him having sexual contact with a juvenile student, officials said.

  Douglas Bollinger, 57, of Neptune City, pled guilty to Endangering the Welfare of a Child. At the time of his sentencing on January 10, 2025, Bollinger will be sentenced to Parole Supervision for Life. He will also be subject to the terms of Megan’s Law as well as Nicole’s Law, which permanently prohibits him from having any contact with his victim.

  Bollinger will also be required to permanently forfeit any future public employment and teaching certifications in the State of New Jersey.

  Between February 2019 and August 2019, Bollinger – while employed as a teacher at the Ocean County Performing Arts Academy – engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a student in both Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park.

  On August 15, Bollinger was taken into custody at his home by the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He was brought to the Ocean County Jail, and subsequently released as a consequence of New Jersey Bail Reform.

  Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer acknowledged the efforts of Assistant Prosecutors Kimberly Carr and Victoria Veni who are handling the case on behalf of the State, and commended the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Lakehurst Police, Manchester Police, Point Pleasant Beach Police, Asbury Park Police, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, for their collaborative efforts in connection with this investigation.
