TOMS RIVER – No injuries were reported when a car collided into the Community Surgical building on Route 37, police said.
Robert Dimino, 71 of Berkeley, was pulling into a parking space at the building when his foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator. This caused his vehicle to jump the curb and hit the building.
The incident happened at around 1:11 p.m. on Jan. 23.
The Toms River Fire Department and Toms River Building Department responded to the scene and reported that the building was unsafe.
Dimino was issued a summons for Careless Driving. The accident is being investigated by Toms River Police Officer Brian Doyle.
