TOMS RIVER – More charges were brought against a county resident in the drug overdose death of a Toms River man.
Peter Keith Paul turned himself in to Toms River Police Feb. 26 on charges of strict liability drug induced death, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
He had previously been charged Feb. 15 with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Toms River Police found a 46-year-old unresponsive male in that man’s residence Jan. 26. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Toxicologists found Fentanyl in the man’s system, which was traced back to Paul.
He is lodged at Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
