LAVALLETTE – Christopher Angulo had reached local celebrity status when he climbed the Jet Star rollercoaster as it sat partially submerged by Superstorm Sandy.

He had been arrested then for disorderly conduct after mounting an American flag on the coaster. He was arrested again on March 2 for allegedly assaulting a cop during a town meeting.

Angulo, 45, of White Avenue in Lavallette was arrested for disrupting a Public Meeting, Disorderly Conduct, and Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.

Local police said that they could not comment on the incident as it is being investigated by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. The county office did not return a request for comment by press time.

On his own Facebook page, Angulo said that the charges were lies.
