Beachwood Man Charged With Burglary, Vehicular Arson

TOMS RIVER – Police said a Beachwood man broke into two homes, and also stole a truck that he later set on fire.

Jesse James Sauer, 25, of Beachwood allegedly entered two homes on July 7 in the Cranmoor section of the town and stole money and property. Additionally, police said he stole a 2003 Ford F-350 from the Money Island section of town. That vehicle was later found in the woods of South Toms River Township, on fire.

A search warrant allowed officers to search his Beachwood residence and found proceeds from the crimes, police said.

Sauer was charged with crimes from two of the police departments involved in the investigation. Toms River charged him with burglarizing two houses and theft of a motor vehicle. South Toms River charged him with aggravated arson, hindering, and destruction of evidence.

As of press time, he was lodged in the Ocean County Jail. The arrests were made through the cooperation of the following agencies: the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI, Ocean County Fire Marshall, South Toms River Police, and Beachwood Police and Fire Departments.
