TOMS RIVER – A local man was arrested as a suspect in a bank robbery from Jan. 23, police said.
Michael Bennett, 31 of Toms River, was arrested and transported to the Toms River Municipal Jail for processing without incident on Jan. 25.
He is a suspect in the robbery of the First Financial Federal Credit Union bank, located at the intersections of routes 9 and 571, on Jan. 23. The suspect had presented a note to the teller and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Bennett was charged with robbery and will be lodged in the county jail pending a bail hearing in the Ocean County Superior Court. He is assumed innocent until proven guilty.
