WARETOWN – Police, fire, and EMS responded to Lighthouse Plaza this weekend after a vehicle crashed into one of the plaza’s storefronts.
According to Waretown Volunteer Fire Co., an SUV crashed into the Southern Elegance Hair Salon causing minor injuries to some of the staff inside on Saturday, Oct. 27.
“Deputy Chief Leaming and Rescue engine 3631 arrived to find a SUV had crashed into the front window of a hair salon in light house plaza,” stated the fire company via social media. “Crews from Waretown Fire, Waretown EMS and Ocean Township Police Department helped assess the occupants of the vehicle and hair salon.”
Although the car caused damage to the front of the building, it was determined that the crash did not cause any damage to load bearing structural parts of the building.
Patrolman Philip Calanni and Sergeant Michael Ward were dispatched to investigate the incident. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. Damage was sustained to both the vehicle and business.
