OCEAN COUNTY – A Tuckerton woman has been charged with eight counts of animal cruelty, among other charges.
Laura J. Giacini, 53, was barred by a Lakewood Municipal court order from owning animals for seven years. A concerned neighbor sent an email to authorities, who investigated Giacini’s trailer at 313 South Green St., which contained eight canines allegedly living in unfit/neglectful conditions. was also charged with one count of contempt of a court order.
The dogs were removed from the property and placed in care of Ocean County Animal Facility in Manahawkin.
Giacini will have a future court date.
