STAFFORD – Ocean County Authorities are now aiding in the search for a missing man with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia, who was last seen earlier today.
Stafford Township Police issued information on their Facebook page and a Nixle alert was sent out this afternoon. Police said that 65-year-old Bu Quach was last seen around noon at the Manahawkin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Route 72 in Manahawkin. Then around 5:30, he was spotted near Treasure Avenue and Lighthouse Drive.
Quach is described by police as an Asian male, 5’3, approximately 120 pounds with shaved short hair, a goatee and was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, dark gray sweatpants and a yellow wristband.
The photograph provided to media outlets is an older photo and police said his hair will be a lot longer and salt & pepper dark brown/grey in color.
On social media, Quach’s son Jonathan asked the public to keep their eyes open. He wrote “I received a phone call from the nursing home today 11/2/18 that he escaped/ran away from the facility. My father has Parkinson’s disease and Dementia. He speaks very little English. It’s raining and there’s still no sign of my father yet. Behind the nursing home is a mostly forest. (Hope that’s not the direction he went) If you have family/friends that are around the Manahawkin area, please share this post. PRAYING that he is found safely.”
Stafford Township Police and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K9/Bloodhound Unit are at the scene.
