LACEY – A Forked River man was arrested for eluding police.
Lacey Township Police Officer Scott Keefe attempted to pull over a speeding vehicle near Lacey Road and the Garden State Parkway at 1:46 a.m. July 15. The driver refused to stop. Keefe followed the vehicle on the Parkway north but terminated the chase due to public safety concerns.
After an investigation, police determined the driver to be 50-year-old Eric Collins. He was arrested July 19 by Keefe on an eluding warrant and was taken to Ocean County Jail to await a bail hearing.
