LACEY – A Garden State Parkway overpass bridge beam will need to be replaced, causing traffic changes on Lacey Road authorities said.
The northern-most beam, located on the northbound side of the Parkway overpass bridge needs to be replaced, New Jersey Turnpike Authority officials told Lacey Township.
The project, once started, could last several months.
Township officials said Lacey Road westbound will be closed off, and one of the eastbound lanes will be used for west-flowing traffic.
“The Turnpike Authority has placed a ‘crash truck’ on Lacey Road at the Parkway overpass to better secure the area,” township authorities said. “In addition, they are making plans to place a concrete median on the overpass to completely block-off what was the westbound lane. This will allow the contractor (George Harms Contracting) to begin their work in a safe manner.”
