LACEY – A head-on motor vehicle crash in Forked River leaves one woman dead and two men with minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
Lacey Township Police confirm that 40-year-old Elizabeth Patashinsky of Cocoa, Florida was killed in the crash on Friday afternoon around 3:37 p.m.
Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said 67-year-old William Orr of Whiting was in the other vehicle.
DiBella explained, Patashinsky was traveling east on Lacey Road when Orr’s vehicle left the western lane of the road, crossing into the eastbound lane, hitting Patashinsky’s car, head-on.
Patashinsky has to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to Community Medical Center with multiple severe injuries. She died a short time later.
63-year-old William Muset of Whiting was a passenger in her vehicle. He complained of chest pain and is now listed in stable condition at Community.
Orr was not seriously harmed but was checked out at the scene by paramedics.
The crash closed the busy section of road for several hours during the Friday night rush hour. The road is now open once again.
While several units responded to the scene, the Lacey Township Crash Team is leading the probe.
