STAFFORD – After a long narcotics investigation, authorities have arrested a local man for possessing drugs and firearms.
On October 15, police pulled over 58-year-old Michael Scully of Manahawkin and searched his car. Officers also searched his home, with both searches resulting in them finding methamphetamine, prescription pills, numerous types of drug paraphernalia and 10 different firearms of the rifle and shotgun variety.
Scully was charged with possession of methamphetamine (3rd degree), possession of Xanax (3rd degree), four counts of drug paraphernalia (4th degree), possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (3rd degree), and 10 counts of unlawful possession of a weapon during the course of a CDS offense (2nd degree).
After being processed at police headquarters Scully was issued a complaint warrant and lodged in the Ocean County Jail with a court appearance to be scheduled.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
