LACEY – One man had an unfortunate start to his day this morning when his car spontaneously burst into flames.
Brian Tucker is a heavy equipment operator in Lakehurst. When the incident occurred, he was on his way to work at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Tucker was traveling through Lacey Township in the early hours of July 31, at approximately 5:30 a.m., when his 1988 Chevy Camaro took a strange turn for the worst.

Tucker told Jersey Shore Online that his car started backfiring and sputtering, before stalling and catching fire.
“Police and first responders were pretty quick seeing how I was in the middle of nowhere on Lacey Rd. past popcorn zoo…I’d say 5 to 10 minutes,” he said. “They all did awesome job!”
Tucker was attached to the car which he had only owned for a year and a half.
“No idea why this happened or how…It’s never happened to me before,” Tucker said.
