FLORIDA – A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to prison for killing a motorcyclist from Ocean County in a 2019 Florida crash, officials said.
Anthony Keyes-Walls was sentenced to 14 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of multiple charges in March, according to a local Florida news outlet.
Keyes-Walls was charged with DUI manslaughter, DUI serious bodily injury, DUI property damage and reckless driving.
On March 10, 2019, 64-year-old Ralph Napoli of Manahawkin was riding his 2010 Harley Davidson in the southbound lane of Interstate 95 when a car driven Keyes-Walls struck the back of the motorcycle.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Napoli was thrown off the roadway and struck a tree. He was pronounced at the scene.
Police added that witnesses observed Keyes-Walls driving aggressively at a fast speed. His car caught fire and he suffered minor injuries.
Along with his sentence, Keyes-Walls will have two months of probation. His driver’s license will be permanently revoked and he will have to undergo 50 hours of community service, undergo substance abuse treatment and pay fines and court costs totaling $14,935, officials said.
