LACEY – A resident’s roommate was charged with stealing his camera and other related equipment by Township Police on Aug. 25.
Officer Michael Verwey responded on Aug. 23 to 603 Clairmore Ave., Lanoka Harbor concerning a reported theft. The complainant said that during overnight hours someone attempted to enter his vehicle.
After checking his vehicle, the victim reported that he then went back into his residence and discovered his Canon model camera, several lenses and other equipment were missing from his bedroom.
Officers returned to the residence on Aug. 25 after the proceeds were discovered at a second-hand store in Pleasantville, NJ.
The roommate of the victim, Craig Powers, 34, was arrested for the theft and several outstanding warrants from various jurisdictions. Powers was lodged in the Ocean County Jail without bail.
