BRANT BEACH – While working on a home, two men were crushed and injured after the top floor and deck of the home collapsed.
The accident happened early morning on September 24. A witness said one of the men was about 40 years old and the other was 35 years old. First responders from Barnegat Light, Beach Haven, Ship Bottom and Surf City all responded to the scene.
The helicopters came from Cooper University Center in Camden and a Lifeline medical transport, and the men were immediately airlifted from the Ethel A. Jacobsen Elementary School field in Ship Bottom. At this time, the condition of the two men is unknown.
An investigation of the incident will be led by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, as the federal agency is responsible for all private sector workplaces in New Jersey.
