MANAHAWKIN – A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created for a 15-year-old girl who was hit by a car Wednesday evening.
Makiah, from Barnegat, was crossing Route 72 from the Holiday Inn with a group of friends when she was struck by a car. Currently she is in critical condition in the pediatric intensive care unit at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Coworkers of Makiah’s mom, Tiffany Worthy, organized the fundraiser to help support Tiffany and her family in their time of need.
“Tiffany is a long-time team member and friend and has provided care to those in need for the last 15 years. As a member of our work family, she is well known to everyone here on campus for her loving heart and soul. Now is the time for us to repay her kindness; we are looking to raise money to help support her and her family while Makiah recovers,” Milena Rooney, who created the fundraiser, said. “Please keep Tiffany and her family in your thoughts and prayers and any support you can give will be greatly appreciated.”
