Four In Hospital After Head-On Collision

  LACEY – A head-on motor vehicle collision landed four individuals in the hospital, according to police.

  On August 15, Lacey Township Police responded to the area of Beach Boulevard and Chesapeake Drive for a collision.

  According to police, 60-year old Glen Wittersheim of Forked River was traveling east on Beach Boulevard when he crossed over the centerline, striking another vehicle head-on. This vehicle was headed west on Beach Boulevard, driven by 18-year-old Lainy Raines of West Creek. Also in the vehicle were two passengers; a 2-year-old male and a friend, 20-year-old Michael Busza of Tuckerton.

  Wittersheim sustained minor injuries and was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment. Raines was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) with significant injuries to her legs. Busza and the 2-year-old were transported to JSUMC by ambulance for minor injuries.
