STAFFORD – District officials have closed the Ocean Acres Elementary School temporarily following the confirmation of three COVID-19 cases at that school.
The school will go remote this week and will resume live learning on November 9, after the November break.
The cases were identified within the last week according to Superintendent George J. Chidiac who stated in a letter to parents and staff that the closure will not affect any other school in the township school district.
“After working with the Ocean County Health Department to analyze the facts and circumstances of the cases and to complete contact tracing, the decision was made to close the school temporarily,” Chidiac said.
He said any student experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus should alert the school nurse.
