Court Date Set For Woman Who Left Three Dogs To Die

  TOMS RIVER – The Lacey Township woman charged with animal cruelty for the death of her three dogs will have her first court appearance on Dec. 19, 2019 at 9 a.m. at the Ocean County Courthouse.

  Allissa DeStefano, 29, was arrested for the three counts of animal cruelty which was discovered on November 11, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

  When Lacey police responded to a township home for a report that dogs had possibly been abandoned in the residence, they discovered the remains of three dogs in the vacant home.

  Members of the Lacey Police Detective Bureau and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office discovered that DeStefano was responsible for the care of the dogs and had abandoned them resulting in their deaths.

  DeStefano was arrested without incident, and processed at the Lacey Police Station. She was released on a summons pending a court date.
