TOMS RIVER – In recognition of American Heart month, Community Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, will host a “Heart to Heart” educational panel on Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Captain’s Inn, located at 304 E. Lacey Road in Forked River.
The event, entitled ‘Let’s Have a Heart to Heart: A Conversation About Your Heart Health’, will feature Community Medical Center’s heart experts, Samir Jain, MD, FACC, Board Certified Cardiologist; Wendy Stratton, APN, Congestive Heart Failure Program Coordinator; Donna Cross, BSN, RN, Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse; Donna Grando, PharmD, BCPS, Pharmacist, and Maureen Bailey, PhD, RN, Emergency Medicine Nurse. The panel will discuss the latest advances in heart health as well as answer any questions the audience has on maintaining a healthy heart.
“Maintaining your heart health can seem complicated,” said Samir Jain, MD, FACC, Board Certified Cardiologist, Community Medical Center. “It takes many steps, like staying active, eating healthy, controlling your cholesterol and blood pressure, and staying up-to-date on the heart health news. The “Heart to Heart” panel gives us the opportunity to simplify heart health for people in a way that they can incorporate into their everyday lives.”
In addition to the panel discussion, light dinner will be provided. Registration for this free event is required and seating is limited. An optional $10 donation to support Community Medical Center’s cardiac education programs is suggested.
