LACEY – Police have said that a young woman suffered serious injuries on Dec. 11 when her vehicle crashed into a tree while she was driving on Route 539.
Kayla Kraus, 22, of Mays Landing was driving on the road just before 3 p.m. when her vehicle crossed the center line and left the road near mile marker 21, it was reported. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and no other injuries.
Multiple units, including fire and first aid squads, responded to the scene. She was transported to the hospital and the crash remains under investigation.
Route 539 is known as being a very dangerous road with many serious and fatal crashes every year.
