OCEAN COUNTY – The Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force stopped a drug transaction in the Home Depot parking lot in Toms River Jan. 24.

Luke Delaney, 22, of Jackson, was charged with distribution of less than one half ounce of heroin, possession of less than one half ounce of heroin with the intent to distribute, and possession of heroin. He is in Ocean County Jail pending a court date.

Peter Fischler, 38, of Manchester, charged with possession of heroin, hindering apprehension, and possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was processed and released pending a future court date.

As the men were approached by detectives in the store parking lot, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office alleges attempted to conceal the heroin. Detectives found 20 individual dosage units of heroin, and two hypodermic needles.

“We will continue our relentless pursuit of all individuals trafficking illegal narcotics in Ocean County,” Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
