OCEAN COUNTY – Three from Ocean County have been charged with the trafficking of illegal narcotics as the result of a three-month long multi-agency investigation, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
The cooperative investigation, conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Berkeley Township Police Department and Toms River Township Police Department, arrested 27-year old Mario Galli of Brick, 24-year old Amanda Humphreys of Seaside Heights, and 37-year old Jason Vella of Berkeley Township.
The investigation revealed that Galli, Humphreys, and Vella were engaged in extensive trafficking of illegal narcotics in Ocean County. Law enforcement officials executed search warrants between September 19, 2019 and September 20, 2019 at two residences — one in Berkeley and the other in Toms River, which seized approximately 500 grams of cocaine, nearly $2,300 in cash, and a loaded 9mm handgun.
Galli was charged out of Berkeley Township with Distribution of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine, two counts of Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, and two counts of Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine.
Additionally, Galli was charged out of Toms River Township with Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute within One Thousand Feet of a School, Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine, Being a Certain Person Not to Have a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Galli is lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Humphreys was charged out of Toms River with Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute within One Thousand Feet of a School, Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Humphreys is lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Vella was charged out of Berkeley Township with Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of more than Five Ounces of Cocaine.
