Pedestrian In Critical Condition From Monmouth County Crash

  HOWELL – A 77-year-old man suffered multiple injuries after a car struck him early Tuesday morning, officials said.

  Around 4:51 a.m., officers responded to the area of Route 9 and Strickland Road regarding a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash. According to officials, a man was driving southbound in the right lane of Route 9 when a collision with a 77-year-old man from Howell Township occurred. 

  The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition suffering from multiple injuries. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with law enforcement, officials said.

  No charges or summonses have been issued with regard to the incident at this time.
