LACEY – An issue with equipment caused Oyster Creek Generating Station to shut down at 10:15 a.m. today, a plant spokeswoman said.

The vacuum was reduced in the plant’s condenser system, said Suzanne D’Ambrosio, communications manager. This is equipment that is not connected to the nuclear operations. Technicians will test and restore the system prior to returning the plant to service.

The shutdown of the plant went as expected, without any incidents, she said. Local electrical customers should not feel any impact to service.
