TOMS RIVER — As we approach the 18 year anniversary of one of the most tragic events in our nation’s history, Ocean County officials are planning a ceremony to honor the memories of those we lost.

The Ocean County Board of Freeholders will hold a Day of Remembrance Ceremony on Wednesday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m. at the September 11 Memorial in Toms River.

Wreaths will be laid upon the 9/11 Memorial as well as the memorial remembering the lives lost in Ocean County to the War on Terror.

In attendance will be Ocean County Freeholder Director Virginia E. Haines, master of ceremonies, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer, and the Ocean County Vocational Technical School Performing Arts Academy choir, which will perform.
